Why Are You Worrying

Living a Perfect Life
Let's face it. Without money we cannot live. We need money for food, clothes, housing, entertainment, transportation etc.
Most of us work hard everyday, yet it seems as though we are working for nothing. The bills hardly get paid, the food is never enough, the credit card has reached it's limit or we pay the minimum payment just to keep it going.
You ask: "Am I ever going to get this paid off? What about that mortgage payment. Mortgage payments vary from 5 to as much as 30 years. Do we really have to wait until we are old before we are financially free from this debt?
These are some of the things we worry about everyday. But what can we do to become less stressed and worried?
Matthew 6:25-30 reads: So I tell you, don't worry about everyday life - whether you have enough food, drink and clothes. Does'nt life consist of more than food and clothing? Look at the birds. They don't need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are. Can all worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not. And why worry about your clothes? Look at the lilies and how they grow, they don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won't He more surely care for you? You have so little faith.
So don't worry about having enough food or drink or clothing. Why be like the pagans who are so deeply concerned about these things? Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs, and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. (New Living Translation).
The New King James Version pust verse 33 as: "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you".
These verses are what I want to focus on, especially verse 33 - The Kingdom of God and his righteousness.
Many of us spend most of our time worrying about how we will get by day to day. But Jesus told us, "why are you worrying? Look at the flowers, look at the birds, are they not taken care of? If you put your faith and trust in the Father, He will also take care of you."
Generally, people don't place their faith and trust in God. Millions of people attend church, but when service is finished, they immediately start worrying - "Is there food in the house? What am I going to wear tomorrow? I need a new car. I need new shoes. And they worry, worry, worry.
What we need to do here and what Jesus is telling us is that we need to set new priorities in our lives. And most importantly have faith.
We need to stop depending on ourselves or on other people to supply our needs and start looking to our Heavenly Father. God is our source and sustainer. If we put our faith in Him, He will give us all our needs.
A lot of us claim to believe and trust in God, but we do not, simply because our thoughts are filled with possessing things and owning things. We think "I want a new plasma HD TV that costs about $12,000, and I need a DVD to go with it. But how am I going to pay for it?"
We work hard to satisfy our material needs, but we spend absolutely no time with God. Yes we go to church but do we really focus on God? It is merely lip service we pay to him. (2 Tim. 3:5 - Having a form of godliness but denying its power. NIV). But people who truly know God don't spend time running after material things because they know He will take care of them.
We need to change our focus. We have to stop living for needs and wants and start living for the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
Thin about it. If we make this our one and only focus we do not need to focus our time and energies on anything else. And if we focus on God and His Kingdom, material things wiil automatically come to us. (Matthew 6:33)
Matthew 6:24 reads: "No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." (NLT)
We were not designed to serve two masters. One will always take precedence over the other. When we seek the Kingdom of God we will have no time for anything else. It will be our main priority.
But you cannot seek the Kingdom of God just to get blessings. We seek God because He is our King and Heavenly Father. We must build a relationship with Him, and then He will take care of us.
Here are some scriptures for you to look up and study.
Romans 14:17, Matthew 5:6, Psalm 37:4, Psalm 42:1-2
I will continue this topic at another time. Until then
God Bless!
